 Time ran out for Isabella. On August 5th, 2011 our sweet girl crossed over The Rainbow Bridge, but our fight will go on.....we will continue to look for the cause and the cure for this dreadful disease that took this beautiful girl in 4 short months....
ISABELLA and so many other dogs have been diagnosed with GRANULOMATOUS MENINGOCENCEPHALOMYELITIS, a disorder of the brain and its surrounding membranes that affects small purebred dogs.

This is the same special littleYorkie who just 4 months ago was in the show ring. Working together we can find out more reasons why this disease strikes and its causes. Isabella's time run out...but my fight will continue. That is a promise we have made to Isabella!!

Any Yorkie can become the victim of this disease. There are no forewarning signs and no tests that can be done to check your breeding lines. There have been several studies done with other breeds for GME/NME. There is not enough scientific data about the disease within our Yorkshire Terrier Breed.
As you can see in Isabella's video it effected her nurological system, causing her to walk sideways at times and unable to control her balance, her legs would give way and she would collapse. It was also effecting her eye sight...when she left us on August 5th she could not tell where we were unless we called her, then try as she could she could not make her way to us...this video was shot 2 weeks prior to her leaving us, that is how quickly they go down...below is the last photo taken of Isabella on the morning she left us...she could not sit up unless she had something behind her, which in this case was her stroller. She left us 2 hours after I took this photo

Now all we have is this, wonderful memories....of our beloved little girl, whose life ended much too soon.
Isabella was only 17 months old.
My mission to raise funds for research is a tribute to Isabella.
She did not die in vain!

I tried so hard to save you, I watched you go from a beautiful girl so full of love and life to a sweet little girl who did not understand why she could not walk without falling down or run and play with your brothers. It broke my heart that I could not make this disease go away. I promised you when you let me know you could not go on I would help you go....I had so hoped it would not be as soon as it was...
You are at peace now little girl and I know you are running and playing with your sister Scarlett, I know she brought you to me to help me cope with her loss,
and she knew Rhett would be leaving me soon, and that I would need another little Yorkie for my lap. I believe she knew you were Meant to Be with me. Funny how your name
